What We Do

As we continue to practice social distancing as a part of our care for one another, we are using our website to worship together and to stay connected.

One of the primary tenets of Methodism is that we will “Do No Harm”.  We continue to live out that tenet by choosing to safely stay at home.  There will be a proper time for us to meet again in our lovely building, but not yet.

Therefore, at the direction of our bishop, Rev. Dr. Grant Hagiya, the United Methodist Churches of the California-Pacific Annual Conference, including First United Methodist Church of Lompoc, will not reopen our buildings to in-person worship at this time.

Our Response to the Sin of Racism

Systemic racism is sin.

White supremacy is sin.
Police brutality is sin.
Silence is sin.

As the fires of Pentecost birthed an equitable and diverse church, we pray for a new birth of justice around the world.

We commit to challenging unjust systems of power and access. We will work for equal and equitable opportunities in employment and promotion, education and training; in voting, access to public accommodations, and housing; to credit, loans, venture capital, and insurance; to positions of leadership and power in all elements of our life together; and to full participation in the Church and society.

Who We Are

We are a congregation of persons inspired by Christ to care for one another, care for all our neighbors, and care for Lompoc community.

Since 1874 First United Methodist Church has been an essential part of the Lompoc community bringing the Good News and God’s love to all.
